Welcome to the file hosting area for the...

Keith Eckstein - Author of the internet acceleration appliance blogThis site exists solely to host the support files used by the Internet Acceleration Appliance project.

For more information about the Internet Acceleration Appliance (and the process I went through to build the initial one), please take a look at www.InternetAccelerationAppliance.com

The files on this site are all used for the installation and support of the preseeded (automated) Internet Application Appliance installation.

For more details, please take a look at Preseeded Installation.

Please be aware that the described installation has no error checking and if you run it, it WILL wipe your hard drive and install the Internet Acceleration Appliance.

For pre-built Internet Acceleration Appliances (delivered anywhere in France; installed anywhere in Brittany, France), please take a look at www.InternetAccelerationAppliance.com - Products Page

There is also a helpdesk and support forum at www.InternetAccelerationAppliance.com - Helpdesk

Introduction

The files detailed below are specific to my requirements for a preseeded (automatic) build of an Internet Acceleration Appliance. Thus, the locale is set to France (even if English is retained as the language) because that's where I live. Likewise, the router IP Address/Gateway is set to 192.168.1.1 because most domestic routers for sale in France default to that address.

As long as you bear those things in mind, you are welcome to use the preseed file (and its associated files) to peform an automatic installation of the Internet Acceleration Appliance - even if the Locale and Language are wrong, the worst thing to happen is that you'll end up turning that old, spare PC, that you have lying in the corner of the garage, into a fully working Caching Proxy server (both HTTP Objects and DNS) and an AdBlocking Filter that improves your online experience.

Of course, you could download the files and edit them to your own requirements - if you do this and feel that what you have done may be useful for others, please send me a copy of those files and I'll be happy to host them here for you.

For Appliances with an IP Address of 192.168.1.2

The following are the files that can be used with an Internet Acceleration Appliance with a fixed IP Address of 192.168.1.2.

The files will assume that the Gateway/Router has an IP Address of 192.168.1.1 and uses OpenDNS as a DNS resolver (see..www.OpenDNS.com for more details.)
